Fragrance-Free Luxury Skincare: Which High-End Products List No Fragrance

Most luxury skincare is fragranced. We went through the ingredient lists on this site to find the high-end products that name no fragrance, essential oil or labelled fragrance allergen, and compared them with other brands.

Based on 116 skincare products from 17 luxury brands and 110 from other brands, with ingredient lists on this site · data as of 27 October 2026

In short
  • 10 of 116 luxury skincare products (9%) list no fragrance, essential oil or labelled fragrance allergen. For the other brands on this site it is 36% (40 of 110).
  • Only 6 of the 17 luxury brands have such a product on this site.
  • “No fragrance listed” is a reading of the label, not a promise that a product suits sensitive skin.

Each product page shows the full list in order, with what each ingredient does.

Brand by brand

Only products whose full list is on this site are counted, so a brand’s count here is not its whole range.

What fragrance looks like on a label

Fragrance appears as “Parfum” or “Fragrance”, as essential oils, or as the individual fragrance allergens that EU law requires on the label. These are the allergens that turn up most in the other 106 luxury skincare products, the ones that list fragrance or a labelled allergen:

IngredientListed in
Linalool61% 65/106
Limonene53% 56/106
Citronellol50% 53/106
Geraniol48% 51/106
Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone24% 25/106
Linalyl Acetate21% 22/106

EU rules require a fragrance allergen on the label only above 0.001% in products you leave on the skin (0.01% in rinse-off products), so a trace below that may not be listed.

How to read this

  • We go by the ingredient list, not by the wording on the pack. A product sold as “unscented” can still contain a masking fragrance, and then it appears on the list.
  • No fragrance listed does not mean hypoallergenic or right for sensitive skin. If you react easily, read the whole list.
  • Plant extracts and flower waters can smell of the plant without being listed as fragrance. We count only what the list names as fragrance or as a labelled fragrance allergen.
  • Formulas change and can differ from country to country. Check the list on the pack you have.

Questions

Is “fragrance-free” the same as “unscented”?

Not necessarily. An “unscented” product can contain a masking fragrance that covers the smell of the other ingredients; it still has to appear on the list as fragrance or parfum. That is why this page goes by the ingredient list.

Why are so few luxury products on the list?

Most luxury skincare on this site is fragranced: only 9% of it lists no fragrance, against 36% for the other brands. The counts come straight from the ingredient lists and update as we add products.

How can I check a product that is not on this page?

Search for it on this site: every product page names the fragrance and the labelled fragrance allergens in its list. For anything else, look on the pack for Parfum, Fragrance, essential oils and the allergen names above.
